Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
Description: Our project is not time sensitive, but I would like to get it accomplished this year, preferably, in the summer. Here's a brief project description: The organization is a membership based, non-profit. The current office network consists of three PCs utilizing file sharing. There is a satellite location that utilizes a laptop with internet access. The student would be asked to evaluate the organization's current hardware and software configurations, make recommendations, and implement strategies for increasing the efficiency of information sharing within the primary office and also allowing for secure, offsite access. Specific goals include: data consolidation to a server, calendar sharing, options for offsite data access, suggesting hardware and software upgrades/additions, integrating audio/video into visitor information centers, and implementing a membership management (CRM) system. Data management/entry would most likely be considerable. To achieve ultimate goals, the student would be involved with identifying and applying for grant/funding sources for hardware and software upgrades and changes.
Skills Needed: Networking and hardware
Available: Summer, Fall 2008
Paid: No
