Outlook Web access seems slow over a 56K dialup connection
The Exchange server is using an updated Outlook Access Web client that is more fully featured than the old OWA client. The new client has been designed to look, feel, and function more like the full Outlook client, and uses a secure method of communicating called SSL which encrypts all of the data in each OWA session so that no "eavesdropping" or stealing of passwords can occur. This feature uses up some processing power on the home users computer.
Users who have computers that are running older versions of Windows and have slower processors may think the new OWA client is slower than the old OWA client. Users who experience extreme slowness should make sure that they have caching turned on on the browser (in IE, it is tools, options, general tab, click the radio button next to "automatically", and under "amount of disk space to use" make sure that you have set at least 50MB. Also check to make sure your system has at least 200 MB of free memory on the C: drive.
